where the fuck did my coochie lips go.

where the fuck did my coochie lips go.

WHEN THE COOCHIE STARTS LOSING HER LIPS

So boom… did yall know your coochie lips can actually get smaller as you get older??? Cause I did not know this shit for the longest. And when I say smaller, I mean the labia can get thinner, flatter, less plump and sometimes way less noticeable. Now before everybody go grab a mirror and start inspecting they pussy like somebody stole something, CALM DOWN 😂 Your lips are not just finna fall off. But the vulva changes just like the rest of your body changes. Your face changes. Your titties change. Your skin changes. Your booty definitely changes. So why would we think the coochie is supposed to look exactly the same forever? It dont.

the vagina is the canal on the inside. The outside is your vulva. Your vulva includes your clitoris, vaginal opening, urethral opening and your labia. Your labia majora are basically the outer lips and your labia minora are the inner lips. And pleaseeee understand there is NO universal way these are supposed to look. Some hang out. Some stay tucked in. Some are long. Some short. One side might be longer than the other. Some are dark, some pink, some brown, some thick, some thin, some wrinkly. All normal. Porn really fucked people up because now everybody thinks a pussy is supposed to come with one factory setting. It dont.

One of the biggest reasons your vulva can start changing is estrogen. Estrogen helps keep vaginal and vulvar tissue healthy, thick, stretchy, moisturized and supplied with blood. So when estrogen starts dropping, the tissue can change. It can become thinner, drier, more fragile and less elastic. And yes, the labia can start getting smaller or flatter. Not “disappearing” like somebody came and deleted them, but they can become way less noticeable than they used to be.

This is a big reason menopause can change the whole coochie. Everybody talks about menopause like its just hot flashes and no more period. Baby no. The coochie is involved too. When estrogen drops during perimenopause and menopause, some women notice less wetness, more dryness, burning, itching, irritation, painful sex, urinary problems or the actual appearance of the vulva changing. The vaginal opening can even get smaller in some women. Doctors call this group of vaginal, vulvar and urinary symptoms genitourinary syndrome of menopause, or GSM. Which is really just a fancy ass way of saying the hormones changed and now the coochie and bladder got something to say about it.

But this is NOT only an older woman thing. Estrogen can be lower in younger women too, especially during breastfeeding. This is why some women have babies and then months later they are like, “Why the hell am I dry??” You can still want sex. You can still be horny. You can still be attracted to your partner. And your vagina can still be drier than it used to be. Breastfeeding can keep estrogen lower for a while, so postpartum women can experience dryness, irritation and painful sex too. Hormones do not care that you are 26. They got they own damn schedule.

And that dryness can start a whole cycle with sex. Imagine the tissue is already dry and then you try penetration. There is more friction, now it burns, now you tense up because it hurt. Next time you try to have sex, your body remembers that shit and starts tensing before anything even happens. Now your pelvic floor tight, now penetration hurts worse, and now everybody confused. This is why I keep saying painful sex should not just be something women accept. Your body is usually trying to tell you something.

Now this is where it gets a little more serious because not every shrinking or changing labia is just hormones. There are also vulvar skin conditions that can actually change the anatomy over time. One of them is called lichen sclerosus. Lichen sclerosus can affect the vulva and cause really bad itching, pale or white patches, fragile skin, tearing, bleeding and scarring. And the scarring part is important because over time that scarring can make the labia minora look smaller or almost like they disappeared. Tissue can also scar around the clitoris and the vaginal opening can narrow. So if your coochie is changing AND you got itching, white patches, tearing or pain, please do not sit there pouring random shit on it for six months. GO GET LOOKED AT.

And while we here, every itch is not a yeast infection. I gotta say that because women will have the same itching for four months and keep buying yeast medicine over and over. If the treatment aint fixing it, maybe it AINT yeast. Vulvar skin problems can itch. Irritation can itch. Allergic reactions can itch. Some infections can itch. Hormonal dryness can burn and itch. The coochie got more than one damn problem available to her unfortunately. So persistent symptoms deserve an actual exam.

If your vulva slowly looks a little different as you get older and you feel fine, that can be completely normal. But if you notice really bad itching, white or pale skin, tearing, bleeding, open sores, burning, pain, painful sex, your vaginal opening getting noticeably tighter or your anatomy changing pretty quickly, I would get that checked. Especially if it is not going away.

And yes, there are things that can help with hormonal dryness and tissue changes, depending on WHY it is happening. Some women use vaginal moisturizers. Lube can help with sex. There are also prescription treatments, including vaginal estrogen, for some women with low estrogen related symptoms. Vaginal estrogen is used locally around the vagina instead of being the same thing as taking hormones for your whole body, but whether it is right for you depends on your health history. So thats a doctor conversation, not a “my cousin said try this” conversation.

And please stop putting EVERYTHING on the coochie. Listen, I love herbs. I love natural remedies. I love learning what plants can do. Thats literally part of why Holistic Hoochies exists. BUTTTTT natural does not mean put it directly on irritated vulvar tissue. If your skin is already dry, inflamed, tearing or irritated, essential oils, perfumes, harsh soaps and random DIY mixtures can make that shit WORSE. Sometimes your pussy needs treatment. Sometimes she needs moisture. Sometimes she needs you to LEAVE HER THE HELL ALONE. Finding out which one comes first 😂

Also, your vulva changing does not mean your coochie is ugly. It does not mean you are old. It does not mean you are sexually done. And it definitely does not mean your body failed you. Womens bodies change through puberty, pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, perimenopause, menopause and everything in between. But nobody really teaches us this shit. They taught us periods, maybe showed us a little diagram, told us not to get pregnant and basically sent us out into the world like good luck bitch 😂 Meanwhile the coochie got a whole lifetime of changes nobody mentioned.

So the real lesson is yes, your coochie lips can get smaller. Estrogen can make a BIG difference in the way your vulva and vagina look and feel. That can happen during breastfeeding, perimenopause, menopause and other situations where estrogen is lower. But there is a difference between normal hormonal changes and your vulva changing because of inflammation, scarring or a skin condition. So learn your normal. Look at your coochie sometimes. Not obsessively 😂 But know what YOUR vulva normally looks and feels like.

That way if something really changes, you know. Your coochie cannot text you like “hey girl something aint right.” The itching IS the text. The burning is the text. The pain is the text. The dryness is the text. The change in appearance might be the text. You just gotta learn how to read the damn messages.

And THAT is the whole point of Holistic Hoochies. Learning your body before something gets so bad you cant ignore her anymore.
